Signed, Sealed, Delivered... I GOT IT

Remember that interview I was telling you all about last week? You know, the one that permitted this new work attire? Yep, that's the one. Well, I can now officially say... I GOT IT!

My new boss approached me the day after my interview, and gave me the officially unofficial great news; news that I would have to harbor for the next week. A week. I can’t speak of this to anyone for seven days? I’m just busting at the seams over here; filled to the core with excitement. I’ve worked my ass off for the last 3 years, and my work is being recognized. I’m moving up in this place, and I can’t even share the news. How lovely. Let me just tell you, those were the longest seven days of my life!
All paperwork has finally been signed, sealed, and delivered. Approved. So, here I sit, bursting with joy, shouting it from the rooftops; I got the job! Effective Friday, April 4th. Hallelujah. Hard work really does pay off in the grand scheme of things.
The interview went smoothly, I was a bit nervous, but I rocked it. The answers I gave were right on target, I brought plenty of work samples, gave real life examples to scenarios and how they were resolved, and asked the interviewer's questions at the end. In past interviews, I've always been asked, "Do you have any questions?" where I would always politely say "No, I do not.", shook hands, thanked them for the interview, and went on my way. Well, that apparently is the wrong thing to do, per my boss. Everything is graded on a points system, and asking questions will give you extra points for a higher score. Why thank you for that little piece of info. I used it to my advantage, and received a shocked expression followed by "Wow, great questions!". I felt great walking out of that conference room. I gave it everything I had, and it landed me the job.
So, the next time you have an interview; ask questions, buy a new outfit, and rock the shiz out of it. You've got this!
