Asher Graham - A Birth Announcement

 Hi Friends!

For the last few weeks the Turner household has been getting used to our new schedule and routine since baby Asher's arrival.

If you follow along with my Instagram then you've already gotten a glimpse of the cuteness overload I've been posting...

Today, our photographer sent over the files for Asher's birth announcement. As always, she didn't disappoint, and I'm in love with the finished product. I can't wait to send them out to all of our family and friends.

While my little guy is sleeping, I wanted to share his birth announcement with all of you!

With such joy the Turner's introduce to you...
The three of us are completely smitten and so in love with this little bundle of joy. He's absolutely perfect. We love snuggling and kissing those chubby little cheeks of his. Asher completes our family perfectly, and we couldn't be happier. God is so good!

Stay tuned for the birth story coming soon...

10 Days...

 April 12, 2015

In just ten short days I will get to hold and cuddle you, kiss that little button nose and those chubby little cheeks, smell you and take you all in, gaze into your eyes, and hold your tiny hand for the first time.

Only ten more days to go.

... and so the countdown finally begins. We've waited 10 long months for this one special day. It's almost here, and I know it will go by oh so agonizingly slow. I have so many questions; Who will you favor? Will you have a head full of hair since I've had such bad heartburn? Will you have those smoky gray eyes, or will they be dark?

I can't wait to hear your cry for the first time. Getting to witness the tears of joy and happiness when your Dad holds you for the very first time. Myself falling in love all over again while watching him with you. Kaylee becoming a big sister, protecting you, and witnessing this new love flourish within her.

Ten days away, and our life and family will forever change. For the better of course. The Turner's will no longer be a family of three, but a family of four. I will then become a Mother of two, and love more deeply than I ever have. We're excited and ready for this new chapter and changes that will soon bestow themselves upon us.

Daddy, Mommy, and Sister can't wait to meet you Asher Graham. We're ready when you are.

In just ten short days our family will be complete!

Thursday Bump Date - 36 Weeks

9 Months Along
and my entire world in one photograph!
{Photo taken at exactly 36 Weeks during our Baby Shower}
How far along? 36 Weeks & 5 Days
Total weight gain/loss: 35.5 pounds per the scale at my Doctor’s office.
Maternity clothes? Still in both maternity and pre-pregnancy pieces.
Sleep: My body is definitely getting used to waking up multiple times a night, and preparing itself for when Asher comes. I’m up 3-4 times a night now.
Best moment this week: Hosting our baby shower, getting tons of goodies for you, and spending time with our family and friends. You are already loved oh so much, and beyond blessed to have such amazing people in your life!
Have you told family and friends: Most definitely.
Movement: Your big movements have slowed down this week. I know you’re running out of room in there… not quite sure how I can possibly stretch anymore and we still have a few weeks to go.
Food cravings: Water, Lemonade, Pineapple, Broccoli, and Chicken salad sandwiches
Anything making you queasy or sick: I got sick over the weekend, but not sure why. It just hit me out of nowhere, and I ran for the bathroom.
Have you started to show yet: Definitely.
How big is baby? The length of a head of romaine lettuce – 18.5 inches in length, and weighing around 6 pounds.
Gender: Boy.
Labor Signs: None.
Pregnancy Symptoms: Daily acid reflux, back pain seems to be getting worse by the day, some constipation still, aches and pains in my lower tummy, and have started experiencing Braxton Hicks contractions.
Belly Button in or out? In and it’s there to stay
What I miss: My bed while I’m at work trying to take a nap in my office during lunch break…
What I am looking forward to: The annual Spring Time parade this weekend, working on the nursery, and a trip to Babies R Us to exchange a few things from the baby shower that we received in multiples.
Wedding rings on or off? On – my fingers have started mildly swelling this week along with my feet more so in the afternoons.
Happy or Moody most of the time: I’m pretty content and getting more anxious by the day!
Milestones: Purchasing your “Coming Home” outfit, and your big sister’s matching outfit is in the process of being made. Working on the nursery; going through and putting away all of your little baby things in their designated places.

Friday Bump Date - 35 Weeks!

Day 250 of Pregnancy!
{Crappy iPhone office selfies and a dirty mirror}
How far along? 35 Weeks & 6 Days
Total weight gain/loss: 32 pounds of ALL belly.
Maternity clothes? Still in both maternity and a few pre-pregnancy pieces.
Sleep: Not much over this past week
Best moment this week: Your sister FINALLY seeing you squirming around making my belly do a wave. She was amazed and thought it was the coolest thing! Now she shakes my belly daily trying to get you to move and “kick” at her hand.
Have you told family and friends: Most definitely.
Movement: Lots of noticeable big movements, and it’s my favorite part of the day. Tiny hiccups come 1-2 times a day… it’s cute watching the bouncing movement from them!
Food cravings: Strawberries, Blueberries, Hershey’s Strawberry Milk, Cheese Grits, and Water.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Your Dad's driving for sure.
Have you started to show yet: Definitely.
How big is baby? The size of a honeydew melon – 18 inches in length, and weighing 5.25 pounds.
Gender: Boy.
Labor Signs: None.
Pregnancy Symptoms: Daily acid reflux, frequent back pain, constipation, experiencing Braxton Hicks contractions, and fatigue - I have no energy what-so-ever.
Belly Button in or out? In and it’s there to stay
What I miss: Being able to do whatever I want. Sleeping, and not feeling drained all of the time. I took 3 naps in my office yesterday!! It feels like the very beginning of pregnancy all over again.
What I am looking forward to: Our baby shower this weekend – getting to spend time with family and friends!
Wedding rings on or off? On – no swelling of my hands, and the little bit of swelling I noticed in my feet a couple of weeks ago has disappeared.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy when I’m not in pain and uncomfortable.
Milestones: Cleaning out the spare bedroom that your sister has decided she now wants to move in to because she claims her room is “haunted”. This weekend we will move her furniture into the spare room, and your furniture in to her room. Nothing like procrastination, and waiting last minute to start working on your nursery!

It's so crazy to think that our wedding was originally scheduled for tomorrow, March 14th, and instead we will be hosting a baby shower instead! I love how things work out differently than planned/scheduled. K and I ended up pushing our wedding date up due to the pregnancy, and chose a date in November... only to find out the day of our wedding that it was my grandparents 43rd anniversary!! It's funny how things happened, and it turned out even better than planned. We now share our wedding date with my grandparents, and will host our baby shower on our 12th "dating" anniversary as opposed to getting married on it. God is so good, and has such perfect timing in all things!

I wish you all a fabulous weekend! Tune in next week, as I will be sharing our couples baby shower in photos.

The Name Game

What's goes in to choosing a name?

Choosing a name for your unborn child can be pretty tough. I mean, it's not like it's really important or anything... they only use it for their entire life. When I was pregnant with Kaylee, we didn't decide on her name until 2 weeks before she was born.

I don't know about yours, but when it comes to choosing a name, my husband will ask the two following questions:

1) In what ways can this name be picked on or made fun of?
Ex. I loved the name Ian. So, he went through every letter in the alphabet rhyming it until he got to the letter "P". Ian and Peein'. That was an automatic no-go for him, and the name was removed from our "name list".

- As much as it aggravates me, this is a good thing to think of because kids can be really cruel these days, and will find any way to pick at something.

2)  Do I know anyone with this same name?
Ex. "Hey, I really like this name, what do you think about it?" - "Hell no, I went to school with a girl named that and she was trashy." -OR- "I knew a kid with that name and couldn't stand him."

- Any name that could be associated with someone negative was immediately thrown out, no if, ands, or buts about it.

With that said, K and I have went through many names for Baby T. over this past month. I began getting frustrated, so I downloaded this Baby Names app to my iPhone to keep track of what he liked as well as the names I liked. He thought of the middle name, I agreed on it immediately. Over the next few weeks, we worked off the "First name" list until it dwindled itself down to 3 names total. One night we asked Kaylee which name she liked best, and she chose my favorite. We then took those same three names to work with us, and had a little poll to see which was liked the best. My #1 name was the winner of both work polls. Insert *happy dance*.

Of course he was still really into one name, and I felt the same in regards to another. With K coming up with the middle name, it was only fair that I get to choose the first name. Right? Right. Lucky for me, he did like the name I had picked out, just not as much as his chosen name. I knew once he was given the meaning behind the name I had chosen, it would be a done deal... sneaky, sneaky.

As soon as I told him the meaning... it was a done deal! Signed, sealed, and delivered. Baby T. has a name, and we chose it during Week 23 of pregnancy. Hot damn!

Deciding on the name, and now referring to him by it as opposed to "he" or "Baby T." makes it that much more real, and we're getting even closer to meeting our little guy.

Our family is delighted to announce Baby T's name...
*Asher Graham Turner*

Asher is Hebrew meaning "blessed" or "happy";
In the Bible, Asher is one of Jacob's sons.

The photo above is a list of the top names we had to dwindle down. K chose Graham the week we found out we were having a little boy. I loved it and immediately agreed. I've adored the name Asher since hearing it a couple of years ago. I like the fact of how different it is, but at the same time it isn't too unique or crazy.

Kaylee helped to decorate the chalkboard while I wrote out the names. She really enjoys taking part in our "weekly chalkboard updates". Adding the snowflakes were all her idea :) That creative little mind of hers is awesome!

She insisted we snap a picture with our finished art piece. Don't mind my post-workout with chalk all over me, self.
