Health & Fitness Journey

I have struggled with my weight for the past six years, since having my daughter.

For the past year, I have been stuck between wanting to change my lifestyle, and actually making the move and putting in the work to change it. I was lacking both the motivation and strength. I would always look in the mirror and hate what I saw and hate all clothes, but I never done anything about it.

My fiancé proposed last November during the Christmas family picture session with our photographer. Sadly, this was the motivation, push, and strength I needed to get out and do something about my weight, and start liking what I saw in the reflection looking back at me everyday.

To jump start my weight loss journey, I began the Whole 30 Program. It taught me portion control and how significant it is to eat whole foods. I cut out all sugars completely, and it wasn't easy. I had the worst migraine's possibly the first 4 days, due to no sugar consumption. That alone made me want to quit, but I pushed past it! A friend recommended watching Hungry for Change. What an eye opener it was! If that doesn't make you want to cut out all processed foods, then I don't know what will. During completion of The Whole 30 Program, I lost a total of ten pounds.

I have been consistent on eating whole foods, and now only have sugars in moderation. I signed up and began going to the gym, and added exercise into my fitness journey around March. I wanted to get on track with eating the correct foods and amounts before throwing exercise into the mix. Since March and adding in exercising, I've lost an additional five pounds.

I'm down a total of fifteen pounds since January 1st. I didn't want any quick fix diets, I wanted to change my lifestyle completely, live a healthier life, and keep the weight off permanently. Quick fix diets only work for a very short period, then you gain it all back plus some. They don't work; that I learned the hard way. I have gained so much confidence back just by dropping fifteen pounds. I now have more energy, and feel better all around.

Here, I will post foods, meals, exercises. I plan to post before and after pictures, once I gain the confidence to do so. I've been inspired by so many women and their weight loss journeys, that I hope to do that same one day. That's why I've created this page. Feel free to follow along with my complete lifestyle change, and health and fitness journey.
