Dauntless Monday

Over the weekend, my Sister-In-Law invited K and I to the movies with her and my brother. We decided on a Saturday matinee and they wanted to see Divergent. Honestly, all I knew about this movie was, the previews looked great; enough to know I wanted to watch it. I'm an avid book reader, the series has popped up on my Kindle account a few times, but I never read the description or hit the purchase button. I'm now kicking myself for doing so!

I almost always read the book(s) before the movie adaptation hits theaters. In this case, I didn't; so I wasn't able to imagine the characters and cast my own decision on who would best be suited for each individual part. The good to this situation: I wasn’t disappointed when the movie cast was released, and I’m now able to visualize the characters when I read the series.

Of course, the books are always better than the movies, it's a given. They're so much more detailed. I know the series is going to be incredible because Divergent was phenomenal. It ranks as one of the best movies I’ve saw in quite a while. The futuristic setting was very interesting, it was face paced, and left me on the edge of my seat for a good portion of the showing. Tris was fearless, and I loved the relationship between her and Four. I don’t want to give away any spoilers, all I’m going to say is GO WATCH IT! You won’t be disappointed. I expected this to be just another movie, but it was so much more. More so that I borrowed the series from my Aunt, and will have my head stuck in books for the rest of the week.

Have you read the Divergent series? Have you went to see the movie yet? If so, how closely do you feel the movie follows the book series? Did it do the book justice?

Wedding Wednesday!

My first ever Wedding Wednesday.

K and I have been together for eleven year's now. Needless to say, I've had this wedding planned for years! It was just a matter of waiting on him to ask so that I could begin bringing those plans to life. I waited not so patiently for him to pop the question, and ask those four, life changing, words. He FINALLY made the move, got down on one knee, and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him on November 16, 2013.

I thought this whole wedding planning thing would be a walk in the park, piece of cake, easy as pie, you name it! How hard and stressful can this be? I've had my wedding planned for years now! Well, reality hit, and boy did she hit hard; how naïve was I to think planning a WEDDING that has already been planned would be easy and stress free.

Being the champ that I am, I've pushed past said stress. We have officially sent payment, and have our date reserved for our venue. K and I, along with family and friends, viewed eight venues. Yes, you read that correctly, eight different venues. These venues took us from North Florida to South Georgia; Georgia being where we found "The One". We've decided on hosting both the ceremony and reception at The Peach Barn.

How gorgeous is this place? It offers everything, and I do mean everything! It was a no brainer after touring the grounds, that we had found THE venue, our venue. Now, I feel as if I can really begin the whole wedding planning process. I'm so excited to see what the next year brings; as well as getting to watch the wedding I've envisioned for years come to life before my eyes.

Please feel free to send any ideas, pointers, or what not to do's my way!

Interview Worthy

Last week while on vacation, I applied for a higher position within the Agency I'm currently working for... and what do you know, I received a call back on Friday for an interview this Tuesday!

An interview is great and all, but I'm sitting here thinking... What am I going to wear? I only have a few days to search for something. I don't want to wear something I've already worn a hundred times. As sad as it may be, first impressions are crucial in the corporate industry. Therefore, a new outfit is a must.

While K was in dance class last night, I rode around town in search of this new outfit, and found myself pulling into Kohls and parking. I wasn't quite sure what to expect... but let me just say, Lauren Conrad didn't disappoint, y'all! I must have tried on 10 different outfits, and loved Every. Single. One. This is a huge deal for me you guys because I don't like trying anything on. So, I may or may not have debated on opening a charge card just so I wouldn't have to put anything back. Ha!

With a heavy heart I was able to narrow the monster pile of outfits down to just one. I decided to go with the coral chiffon bow tank, khaki pencil skirt, black blazer and pumps. I loved the entire Lauren Conrad collection, and plan to go back and buy more pieces! I've never really given Kohls much thought on work attire, but they are most definitely on my radar now. Need new clothing for work? Don't pass this place up!

Without further adieu, below are the pieces to the outfit I purchased. What do you think? Interview worthy? Good first impression material?

Wish me luck, and stay tuned for details on how it panned out!

Blogging Newbie

Hello Blog World!

After a year of debating, I've finally decided to take the plunge and start a blog. The purpose of this blog is to act as my very own journal. I plan to document the life of my family, any big changes that may take place, travel, vacations, wedding planning, just anything and everything this beautiful life has in store for us. I enjoy sitting down with my parents and going through baby books, albums, etc., and I'm wanting this to be something to share with our daughter as she gets older.

It both thrills and makes me anxious to take this step, and start something new. I can't wait to connect with all you bloggers, and see where this little ol' blog of mine takes me.

In the meantime... I'm totally missing this view since we're back home, and I'm stuck at work behind a desk again.
