Spring Fresh Style Picks

Last week I walked in to Old Navy in search of a pair of dark skinny jeans for a dance performance Kaylee was scheduled to have the following day. Nothing like waiting last minute... you know how I roll. The skinny jeans were an easy find. I should have been in and out within 5 minutes. Should being the keyword there. I couldn't help that all of their spring pieces had just been put out on display! I browsed for about an hour, and ended up buying a few extra things along with the skinnies that I was solely in the store for. 

There were so many cute things in every direction that I turned! I didn't know where to begin, so I browsed each section a handful of times making sure I didn't miss anything. It was definitely hard not buying it all. Can I just get one of everything in a size 8 please, and thank you!

This week I've been cleaning out her closet and ridding it of those clothes that do not fit anymore. I'm excited for the warm weather, and to take her spring clothes shopping. Our first stop, Old Navy, of course!

These are just a few of my favorite picks for Asher since he will be a spring baby after all... Gah! I can't wait to start buying little boy things when I go shopping for kids clothes.

Yet again, Old Navy doesn't disappoint with their styles of children's clothing! What stores will you be hitting up for some spring/summer clothes shopping for the kids?  

 

RUUM Kids

O-M-G!

Have you heard of RUUM American Kid's Wear?!? If not, you're welcome. I found it while on Pinterest a few months back, and just love, love, love the clothes. Seriously though, like I needed another children's clothing store to subject my measly bank account to. To the hubs, if you're reading this, sorry in advance! 

 

Oh well, what's done is done, there's no going back now, my debit card can't get enough of this place! Especially upon seeing the 70% off ENTIRE SITE during my weekly online shopping fix. No way could I pass up a deal like that! Who could... better yet, why in the heck would you??

Unfortunately, they do not have an Infant/Newborn section, however, their Toddler section begins at size 6M. That's good enough for me. I can totally work with those sizes.

 

 Soo, what are you waiting for? Go take advantage of this awesome deal they have going on! If anything, you could at least stock up on Winter clothes for next year. You know, get ahead of the game and all. This is definitely one of those sales that are just too good to pass up.

Wedding Wednesday!

Good Morning lovely ladies... and I suppose gentlemen, if there are any of you reading this.

 

I haven't posted a Wedding Wednesday in a few weeks. To be quite honest, every time I've opened my checklist and/or wedding spreadsheet, I've just gotten this really overwhelmed feeling, and exit out of each within a minute. The days and months are passing by so quickly. I feel like we're running out of time, and there is so much left to do. Elopement keeps looking better and better. I wish I could just hire a wedding planner to do it all. If only it were that simple.

 

This week, we have accomplished a few things... Deposits have been made for our DJ, Photographer, and the Details Company. Our March date is now secure and we're locked into a contract with each vendor; which was a huge sigh of relief. After making those deposits, I felt some of the weight on my shoulders melt away, and started browsing whimsical/boho styled weddings. I may or may not have spent a few hours looking through 104 pages of wedding dresses. I have an idea of what I'm looking for, but definitely opened to trying on anything. The dress talk will be saved for an entirely different post though.

 

Today, I want to talk hairstyles. Updo's, side braids, or down and simple? I was pretty set on what I wanted about a month after K's proposal. Nothing fancy, just a simple messy braid running down my shoulder.  

 

This being my absolute favorite of all, but with a little less volume.

Once again, Pinterest is clouding my judgment and making me second guess myself. Go figure. I've never been a fan of updo's. I personally just don't care for them. Never really have... until I came across this one on Pinterest. This is the only updo I've found and could actually see myself wearing for our wedding.

 

 

Here are a couple of other simple messy hairstyles I've found and really love too...

 

 

 

 

So, the million dollar question being... Shall I stick with the messy side braid that I've loved from the very beginning, a braided updo, or a wavy yet messy free flowing style? There's such a variety of styles to choose from. I love them all.

 

At least this is one decision I don't have to make until a month prior to the wedding when I go into the salon for my trail run. Yippee for one less stressor at this moment in time.

Wedding Wednesday!

Groomsmen and suspenders.

I've always loved the vintage era (I was born during the wrong time). I knew that I wanted the groomsmen to wear suspenders, a tie/bowtie, and a newsboy cap for our wedding. Of course, I had to run this by K, and get his thoughts... since these are his guys. Needless to say, I was slightly euphoric when K agreed and was keen on going with this style for the guys. This look is so dapper and takes me back into an urbane period. For me, this is not a thing of the past.

Now, that we've decided to go with tan for the guys as opposed to the gray, I'm really smitten on this look with the suspenders. Not to mention, these groomsmen are quite charming. Don't tell my fiancé I said that though. Ha!

This is one of my absolute favorite weddings that I've stumbled across to date. I love everything about this look, but would want K in something a bit dressier like slacks. Love the newsboy cap. Love the suspenders.

Of course, we can't forget about our "Ring Security". He will be in something similar to the groomsmen, more along these lines...

How darling is that? I die every time I think about his little outfit! What do you think of this style? I think it couldn't be more perfect for the style we're envisioning for our wedding.

Slowly but surely things are falling into place, and decisions are being made. I can not wait to see these sixteen months of planning come together on the day of.

Wedding Wednesday!

Flower Girls: (noun) Quite possibly the cutest and sweetest roles taking part in the wedding ceremony.

 

K and I are including his four precious little nieces in our wedding. Flower girls are the cutest to me; I always love watching them walk down the aisle and toss their little flower petals, making their way to wedding party. So sweet. I love that K has such a big family, and that we're including each girl in our special day. I've always envisioned a handful of flower girls walking down the aisle before myself.

 

 Each one of these sweet girls hold a special place in my heart. I introduce to you, our Flower Girls!

We've got our girls; now we just have to find the dresses. I had envisioned something with a vintage/boho vibe, definitely lace, combined with a pair of ballerina flats, and flower crown. I just love this woodsy look.

I've voiced my opinion previously on the whole cowgirl boots in a wedding debacle... BUT since running across this picture on Pinterest a couple of months ago, I'm now envisioning cowgirl boots for the flower girls. This dress has to be the most adorable thing I've ever seen. Swoon.

So, I of course am now at a crossroad. Do I go with the country chic, or boho chic? Everyone who knows me, knows I've never really been "country". So me having a rustic style wedding, and getting married in a barn (a very nice barn I might add), has been a bit of a shock. Luckily we don't have to purchase the flower girl dresses right this moment, so this decision has a little bit of time for me to make a choice.

Wedding Wednesday!

Today's Wedding Wednesday will focus on a boho inspired engagement photo session.

Last fall, I stumbled upon this adorable little blog, Pillow Thought, and have been following along since.  I've always had this idea of how I wanted to style our engagement pictures, but had yet to come across a similar styled photo shoot. That is until Lindsey blogged her family pictures... which just so happened to be the day before K popped the question! Talk about perfect timing at its best, or this little thing I like to call fate. I really do believe there's a reason I stumbled upon her blog, and I'm so happy I did. 

For our engagement pictures, I will be pulling some inspiration from Lindsey's boho family pictures. She was so creative in the use of details; she really had a vision, and ran with it. I love the fact that hers are family pictures because we plan to have Kaylee  with us in some of our engagement pictures.

Here are a few of my favorites from their session; ones that I've pulled some inspiration from for our engagement session...

 

I've been looking for bell sleeve dresses, and have had a little bit of luck at finding some. Our engagement pictures aren't until the fall, sometime between September and October. Therefore, I still have time for finding the perfect dress. I think I will have better luck after summer. Meanwhile, this is my favorite of the few I have found.

 

Stacked bracelets are a must. I have to confess, the accessorizing part is going to be the most fun buying. The options are endless for bohemian jewelry.

 

If you haven't guessed, I'm beyond excited for our engagement pictures this fall. Thank goodness I have ample time for planning. I'm going to need it due to all of the details going into this photo shoot. It's going to be well worth the months of planning I have ahead. The pictures are going to be so much fun, and I can't wait to see what great memories our photographer captures.
